Biostar Korea, receives CGMP certification from MFDS

  • The first stem cell culture medium manufacturer in Korea to obtain the certification

Biostar Korea Co., Ltd., a stem cell culture medium manufacturer, acquired the Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of Korea on April 21.

CGMP is a detailed guideline for the manufacture and distribution of outstanding cosmetic products with guaranteed quality that conforms to the international standards. It aims to contribute to consumer protection and public health promotion by ensuring that outstanding cosmetic products are manufactured and distributed through strict quality and safety control of raw materials, facilities and equipment as well as employee education and training.

Biostar Korea became the 42nd cosmetics manufacturer among some 1,000 domestic companies to officially gain recognition for its conformance to CGMP, and it is especially meaningful as it became the first stem cell culture medium cosmetic products in Korea to equip itself with facilities and systems that conform to the international standards.

A representative of Biostar Korea said, “The CGMP certification proves that Biostar Korea manufactures stem cell culture medium cosmetic products with verified facilities and equipment, and recognizes the outstanding quality of the cosmetic products manufactured and sold by our company. We will continue to improve our competitiveness and contribute to the enhancement of quality and productivity of the stem cell culture medium cosmetics market at home and abroad.”

Biostar Korea’s stem cell culture medium cosmetic brands include Dr. Jucre and La Stem Swiss. The stem cell culture medium, which is the main ingredient used in these products, is manufactured using the stem cell culture technology of K-Stem Cell.
